Irresistable Grace

It is possible that no part of the tulip gains as much attention from our detractors then irresistable grace. This is probably caused by the complete lack of understanding of the whole of the Doctrine of Grace. Notice I said Doctrine of Grace, because properly what we are talking about is the “Doctrine of Grace” as a single doctrine. The tulip is not five doctrines that make up the doctrine of election, but 5 points that incumpus the whole teaching of scripture on the subject of election. For this reason you can’t divorce any of these from the others, they comprise a whole with out them none of the others can stand. You can not eliminate any of these: Total depravity, Unconditional election, Limited atonement, Irressitable Grace or Perseverance of the saints, then confess to be a 4 point Calvinist. Thus the only consistent doctrine is either be a Calvninist or be an Arminian. However, there is an element today that attempts to deny both and claim that both are un–scriptural. This same set of thinking believes that there understanding of the scriptures is authority and all else is heresy.
